I wasn't born in the Nexus, of course. My birthplace was in Canterlot to a pair of unicorn scientists who were working for the Princesses on some lifetime project to open a window to other universes. That window turned out to be a door, but we'll get to that later.

My parents wanted me to follow in their boring hoofsteps, but I could tell you from an early age that my grades in school were not good enough for me to study quantum physics. Instead, I became obsessed with books, one particular genre of books, adventure books. I got my cutie mark for writing when I wrote a 47 page novella in elementary school, a book about a snail going on an adventure to sate the emptiness in his life. It was a pretty dull story, to be honest, but it got me a magical tramp stamp, so I can't complain too much. If you haven't figured it out already, that book was secretly about me.

I'm not sure if you know this, but Equestria isn't the best place for someone with a heart yearning for excitement. Literally every time something exciting happens, those elements of harmony mares fix it! But I guess I should be grateful for that, right?

I mentioned the project my parents spent their lives on. They weren't the only ponies working on it, of course, but they were a part of the team. Anyway, their final product wasn't really what they had hoped for, but it turns out that wasn't such a bad thing. Equestria's first stable nexus portal was created and mom and dad were among the first to see it. It didn't take long for ponies to figure out the nexus is pretty sweet ...and dangerous, and it took equally little time for me to decide to venture into it. I was an adult! I could take care of myself!

God, I'm stupid.

After a couple years of stuff and things in the Nexus, I've completely given up on that whole adventuring thing. I wasn't very good at it, and a lot of bad things happened. So you can just forget about that old backstory section. Except for the stupid part.

When the adventuring thing didn't work out, I got more interested in just settling. Even though this place is a lot more dangerous than Canterlot, I never really did return home. I guess the reason I chose to stay is because I've made a lot of friends here. I got some work as a waiter in a local nightclub called "the Pantry," Some people think I look cute in a waiter's outfit, which has ended up putting me in danger more than a few times when dealing with hungry customers.

One day while I was strutting around in my female dragonpony form- I can change genders sometimes because of magic and shit- I hooked up with Woril and then eggs happened. The eggs were nice, but we probably should have scrambled them, because a while later they hatched into Spring_and_Pyr, the worst kids a mother could ask for. I'm a mom now. I'm a guy. (Sometimes they will be babies or kiddos when they appear with Ray, but I usually play them as adults even though that doesn't make sense.)
