Long ago a civilization had need for a dedicated core of Multipurpose Explorers, Bioengineering was so common place in this society, that it was the first avenue they explored to address this need. The result of their efforts was Sharl, along with her many brothers and sisters. Sharl was designed to fulfill a great number of roles that would be required of any crew exploring the cosmos, able to feed, heal and entertain her fellow crew, as well as work in environments that would be far too hazardous for them, her versatility offset the impracticality of her 'assets'.
The civilization that created Sharl has long since faded from memory, their relentless expansion and exploration into space outran their ability to remain a cohesive society, perhaps some are still exploring the void in far off galaxies, but Sharl has found a new home and purpose with the younger civilizations. Fulfilling the role she was originally designed for, she has found work as a dancer, medic, and many other professions. The concept of currency is a new one for Sharl, and she sometimes has trouble finding employment for some reason, but regardless she is adapting to capitalism as well as can be expected.
Sharl is designed to weather and adapt to almost any environment she finds herself in. Her skin is tough and highly insulating, which keeps her internal body temperature at a comfortable warmness despite outside conditions. Her lungs are capable of breathing in most mediums, able to extract oxygen from liquids and filter out unwanted elements and compounds. In environments where there is no oxygen at all, she can survive on a reserve built up in other parts of her body.
Sharl's breasts are a tad unusual in that they are hollow, unlike real mammaries. This allows them to store much more milk than would otherwise be possible, her milk contains all essential minerals and vitamins, making it possible to survive exclusively on a diet of it. Her milk also contains specialized cells which heal injuries and regenerate genetic damage, it is also oxygenated, allowing it to be breathed in lieu of air. Her nipples are unusual too, being a single orifice instead of a modified sweat duct, allowing her to insert objects or even people into her breasts, either for keeping them warm, or healing more substantial injuries.
Sharl's male equipment is like her breasts, they can heal and sustain the life of someone inside her orbs. Her sperm can also break down lifeforms into raw genetic materials for later use, and can adapt to the genetics of her partner, enabling her to reproduce with most other species, this ability is particularly useful for species that suffer from a lack of genetic diversity.
Like the rest of her, Sharl's female equipment is quite stretchy, enabling her to easily take someone into her womb. It is filled with a thick but breathable fluid which is much the same as her breast milk in it's properties.
