Rho Nine is, put simply, a robotic wolf.
A mid-tier law enforcement model of the highly popular Sentinel line, R9 (as he is sometimes called in shorthand) was manufactured by Theisman Security Dynamics, inc, and purchased by [REDACTED], where it was operated in riot control duties for nearly 7 years before being phased out and auctioned off to the private market.
Visually, it can simply be described as a robotic wolf. It has a sleek but angular design, reminiscent of a stealth fighter, colored a dark grey with patches of white checker boarding on the shoulders and back of the neck. All the limbs, as well as the tail, are fully articulated, and give it nearly the same range of motion as its living brethren.
It comes with a variety of equipment. The primary weapon is a modified Benelli M4 Super 90 shotgun integrated into the chassis on an articulated swivel, able to retract into the spine and exchange the tube magazine from a rack of roughly 5, all with variable ammunition loadouts. Secondary weapons include a set of energy tasers built into the head, and a series of canister launcher tubes on either side of the spinal armament, usually loaded with tear gas or riot foam.
Navigation is achieved through a network of LIDAR and sonar sensors and cameras, distributed at numerous redundant points across the chassis. The unit includes a number of other features both discreet and overt, most notably how the jaws seem able to part completely open, and how the underside of the torso has a smooth fabric-like lining over it, lined with articulated mechanical ribs.
