Her real name is Redback, like the spider, but most people shorten that to either Red, or the rather more respectful "Big Red". Because when you're a miniature colossus, 15ft of lean but powerful perentie (a type of monitor lizard) respect is something earned naturally through the fear of possibly becoming her next target, or her next meal.

But despite that reputation, Red isn't all that easy to get on the bad side of. She won't chomp you up at the drop of a hat, and any meal she does have will take hours upon hours to completely digest unless she pressures it. When you live out in the far wastelands of the outback like she does, any meal you manage to catch has to keep you going for a long time indeed, and the life she leads means she's used to meals being somewhat rarer than you would expect.

And for those things she can't just wrangle and eat whole, well, there's a reason the Amazonian lizard is equipped with a junky old ripsword that's scaled up to her size. Normally, such a weapon is the size of a large knife at best, but in the hands of that massive lizard, it's now a chainsword that will rip through enemies and monsters alike if she really has to. But that's only if, as said, she really has to.

Because now she's found her way to the Hollow, where things are more socialable, where food is more plentiful, and she can afford to relax and let her guard down. Slow to anger, easy to get along with if you provide the snacks and drinks, Big Red is more than happy to lounge around and take it easy for a while - unless she spots something cute and tasty. Then, well, all bets are off.

If you catch her attention, don't run. You'll just be exhausted by the time you're sliding down the slippery purple chute of her gullet.
