History

A human's life is one enveloped in war, enveloped in famine, enveloped in darkness.... This was the first thing Qoth learned, as he lived through his human life. The war being particularly true, as he was born into a family of warriors. While adept in the ways of the blade, he hated this lifestyle. Slaughtering just for the promise of being able to breath another day.... Eventually, kingdom was no longer defending, and sought to attack their neighbors. They were told by The Archbishop that their people must cease their attacking, and must sacrifice one of their highest ranking warriors to compensate for their profanity. They wanted to appease the gods, yet keep their heartless conquests up. Thus, Qoth was selected to be the sacrifice.

Human nature is filled with fear, and from this fear stems all other evils. This was the second thing Qoth learned, as he was forced and carried by his old friends, struggling for his dear life, as they offered him, the least violent of all to appease the gods. The archbishop held the ceromony, slaying Qoth. The others reveled, for they felt they had both done what the gods had asked, and kept all of their blood-drunk warlords.

One should never try to outsmart the gods. This was the third thing Qoth learned. When Qoth's spirit was presented to the gods, who took the form of dragons, for them to feast upon, the deities bowed in respect to Qoth. "Brave warrior, who fights only to protect those he cares for." The gods said in unison. "We sought the sacrifice of a violent soul, and the archbishop knew that. To slay you was their last mistake." The gods took the human's soul, and reshaped it into a naga, replacing his blade with a scepter. "Return to your world, and avenge yourself, and all others your former allies have, and will slay. Starting with the archbishop.

One who asserts their power is he without power at all. This was the fourth thing Qoth learned. He returned to the temple, scepter in hand. As he approached the archbishop, his former comrades stood, ready to slay him a second time. Qoth hymned to his scepter, binding the warriors' skin in ethereal cloths, turning them into his mummies. They blocked any who would intervene from entering, and Qoth swallowed the corrupt archbishop whole, digesting him, and adding him to the naga's body....

Squirming prey is the best.... This was the fifth thing that Qoth learned..... BLEAAAAAOOOOORRRRPF!

After his conquest of his nation, turning those who would continue to lust for blood into more of his servants, the naga found he had quite the work force at his disposal. Fortunately, he knew just what could be done with them. He set the reanimated bodies to building him an opulent palace, ornately decorated as all pyramids of his kind were. It was then that Qoth grew lonely. After doing what he thought was right, people began to fear him, terrified that he would turn them into hopelessly bound subjects for anything. Qoth knew this, and invoked communion with the gods. They anointed him into the position of Pontiff, to replace the former archbishop, and to show a new age for their religious sect.

With this, it became Qoth's duty to memorize all of the current standing rituals, and devise new ones. This lead the snake to combine arts of arcane, spiritual, and alchemy into various mediums to accomplish this goal. The first thing he devised was to restore the souls of those embraced with his ornate bandages, his servants gaining free will, though their minds wiped completely anew. This lead others to see the benevolence of the serpent, as his mummies sang praise for their ruler, having built a positive reputation with them, others slowly began to filter in to hear his sermons, praise the gods and goddesses, and feel the same devotion to serve that the mummies did. With time, all who followed his religion would become mummified, so that they may serve in the eternity that Qoth was granted by the gods. For as long as he remained benevolent to his subjects, he would live to rule them.

Within this peace though, occurred war. Those jealous of the eternity gifted to the devoted. Though he could survive, he was not immune to death. He was still quite susceptible to the steel of a dagger. His army of undead refused to waver or falter, fighting and rising until the last of them had been felled... They would reanimate with the serpent's magic, but not in time to prevent them from storming the throne room.

Qoth was massacred in front of his subjects, once again presenting his soul to the gods. They shook their head, saying that his duty had not been fulfilled. To ensure his continued service, they bound his soul to his scepter... With the next day, Qoth's scepter rebuilt him a body to fit his soul, and thus, he was able to coordinate his legions of faithful, and regenerated followers to retake their temple, sending a message to those who would threaten to besiege it again.

Those who partook in the invasion became mediums for new rituals, eternally tortured and punished for their sins, eternity to atone for their sins

Abilities

Alchemy!- This serpent is well versed in the mixing of potions and venoms to achieve various ends.... Take a sip from the bottle... Never know what might happen~

Sorcery!- Able to use arcane energy to manipulate objects around him, giving off a sort of telekinetic vibe. He can also use sorcery to alter the properties of his venom.

Venom!- Not always lethal, in fact most times has quite stimulating sensations.... Those fangs are well-seasoned to leave venom without causing excessive injury!

Transformation!- A bit of subcategory of his alchemy, he can brew things that alter the bodies of others, turning them into things that they could never imagine! It's quite the intimate process, and requires the serpent to be all over the receiver's body, feeling for vital signs, and applying various potions or venoms when necessary to make sure it all goes smoothly...
