Plum is a non-Newtonian fluid with a variable density controlled by feeling and mood. The goo is pretty new to cultures outside of her own, and slowly is attempting to learn about them. Her naivety about how some things work, including her own body, is probably a bit of a stumbling block, and her limited vocabulary certainly doesn't help matters.
Anything that ends up inside of the goop, and left inside long enough, slowly undergoes a process where the material is converted into more mass for the goo. As such, the shape and proportions of her body can rapidly and drastically change on a day to day basis. Thankfully, things tend to take a large amount of pressure before they pass through inside. Generally speaking she's pretty resistant to allowing things inside, probably some manner of protective self-defense.
