Phonix is a large wingless synthetic dragon with a penchant for gluttony. The exact nature of his origin is largely ambiguous, but he doesn't seem too threatening, other than his general size. Standing tall he dwarfs the average human, but what else would be expected of a dragon? Externally, Phonix is smooth with plastic-like scales and plates that make up the bulk of his body. Joints and a portion of his belly are a darker color and a more rubbery, tactile texture. His eyes are displayed on a visor on his face, and can change color depending on mood and emotions, as well as can display other things like a digestion progress bar, or helpful infographics! His innards are dark and slimy as one might expect, a mixture of rubbery stretch and latex-like slickness to ingest and funnel prey towards a big cauldron-like belly, to be temporarily stored, or to be repurposed as biofuel. Internally, Phonix resembles quite closely the anatomy and physiological functions of biological organism, although certain functions aren't wholly necessary. He breathes, but doesn't really need to resperate for example. Similarly, he has a set of functioning reproductive organs, but doesn't need to reproduce.
Part machine, part biological creature, Phonix is largely self-dependent in maintaining homeostasis. He eats to refuel and repair himself when he's hungry, and as a rather gluttonous creature, sometimes he eats in excess for fun. Sure, he's vaguely machine-esque, but he doesn't seem all that 'robotic' in personality or speech. He acts like a dragon. Self assured. Sort of smug. Frequently hungry. And teasingly aloof with strangers. He's not always trying to find things to cram down his gullet, though that is a risk when first getting to know him.
Instead of the typical way digestion works with acids and enzymes being used to break down and metabolize prey, Phonix's stomach secretes a chemical mixture, that is extremely basic, rather than acidic. A strange mixture of ammonia and lye, and other nasty caustic things that will end up in much the same fate. Digestion doesn't happen immediately, as prey or sources of fuel can be held and stored in his stomach for periods of time, and even shunted further down to bypass digestion entirely, if he so chooses. Internally, Phonix greatly resembles an organic, biological creature, just synthetic. Mouth leads to throat, throat leads to stomach, stomach leads to intestines, and... well, the rest comes naturally. There are some unique biological 'enhancements' but those are largely unseen from the outside and are only evident from the inside~
Setting-wise, Phonix can fit into modernesque places or light sci-fi things.
