Inua

Forest Spirit

Inua Dzunukwa is, in all appearances, a normal Fallow doe, if a bit on the large side for a cervine (which is still considerably smaller than even a small horse). Her broan coat is, and will always be, covered in white specks, as though she were perpetually a fawn. That's just what her species looks like.

However, she has noticed some inate magical properties flowing through her body, not the least of which is her ability to change her own size, up to a factor of three. It's not easy for her, and consumes a lot of energy, but she has found it comes in quite handy. However, most of the time she stays at her normal size, because its easier, and attracts less attention than a 2.7-meter-tall doe.

She also has an anthropomorphic form, albeit one that's a far cry from what the civilized folk are used to. Her body retains much of its feral features, from her legs to the small udders on her abdomen. Really, it's only the proportions of her body, and the shape of her skeleton, that changes between the forms (although she does have hands instead of hooves, albiet three-fingered hands).

Inua is a sort of gardener, and likes tending the forest she calls home. She takes to it like a fish takes to water, and has never questioned exactly why she enjoys the task so much, or why she so hates anyone who would try to mess it up. In truth, she's a spirit of the forest, immortal and powerful, although the deer herself doesn't know that. She just knows that she likes gardening, has a few magical abilities, whose origins she never thought to question, and always comes back, no matter what happens to her.

As a spirit, she embodies much of the life of the forest, including the eat-or-be-eaten culture that pervades the natural world. She's developed a taste for living meals, and sees no reason to question that, either. Certain creatures, it seems, are destined to add to her pudge, especially during the winter months when a bit of fat is the only thing she has to ward off the cold.
