Evin_Windstride

Evin Windstride is a worker for the Zephyr Express courier service. As a centaur, he’s well-suited to the job, able to swiftly move along the roads (and even off them, if necessary) to deliver packages faster than most human couriers; he can even outpace many on horseback, since he’s both “horse” and “rider” in one! He’s also a bit stronger than his size would suggest; he’s easily able to carry loads that would slow down an equivalent-size horse,

Zephyr Express isn’t just a courier service, though; they also offer transportation. Sure, you could book a carriage or a caravan to take you to far-off towns...but centaurs like Evin can offer a more unique, more efficient method of travel.

Through enchanted trinkets, some training, and quirks of centaur biology, Evin can both swallow an entire person, safely hold them within his stomach for several days if necessary, and release them later...more or less clean.

While carrying a passenger, the normal food Evin eats is digested and, thanks to one of his trinkets, completely absorbed in his human stomach, to avoid undue messiness for his passenger. The water he drinks is unaffected, but really, in a centaur’s stomach, someone isn’t gonna notice much extra wetness.

All that said, though, nothing is perfect. Sometimes, an enchantment will fail, or he’ll lose concentration for a while, or a trip will take longer than expected, and his passenger will be digested. That’s no cause for worry, however! Every Zephyr Express stop is near a temple of resurrection, whose clerics can restore travelers, free of charge, even if they’re nothing more than some fat on a centaur’s flanks and a spirit trapped within his belly.

When he’s not on duty, Evin is still a friendly sort, with a flirty streak and a huge appetite; after all, he can’t eat much during his trips, even those without ‘passengers’! He’s not averse to wolfing down humans (and other similar races) when off-duty, and unlike his paid passengers, those meals are usually digested before the end of the day, and ‘expelled’ the next morning. Still, he’s a nice guy; he’ll pay a visit to a cleric to resurrect his prey, and even bring their possessions if they left any behind.

So, while you may end up taking the occasional tour of his insides, Evin may still make a good friend. Or at the very least, he’s well worth trusting your deliveries to!

Evin isn’t a particularly large centaur; he’s basically a slim, average-sized humanoid atop the body of a svelte, average-sized horse. Both parts of his body are trim and athletic, perfect for speed.

His fur and hair are mostly shades of blonde; his equine coat is a darker, sandy blonde, while his hair and tail are both a bit lighter. The front portion of his hair is partially dyed red, as part of his heritage.
