Coffu

Oh! Haha, hello! Care for a game of dice?

Me? Oh well that is a long story. I can tell you aaaaall about it while we play.

Hmm? Whassat? You don't know the rules?! Haha my friend they are simple. Let me explain.

The game is Gnomes and Ogres.

See these two 6-sided dice? These are your Gnomes. They are trying to "knee" the Ogre, this 10-sided dice.

To do that, you roll them. If the Gnomes roll higher than the Ogre they successfully kick the ogre in the shin!

Be careful though. Rolling an 11 or a 12 is known as The Maw. Meaning the Gnomes went too high and right into the mouth of the Ogre.

Alternatively, if the Orge rolls a 1 it kicks! And the gnomes instantly loose!

If the gnomes roll two 1s then a snake scares the Ogre, which the Gnomes count as a win in their book.

Got the rules? It's okay if you don't I'll keep track.

Bets? Oh right! Bets are made before the rolls. Your winnings depend on what the Ogre rolls. 2-5 is 1:1, 6-7 is 2:1, 8-9 is 3:1

If you match a ten you get 4:1 but you can double or nothing! This is called going legendary~

Of course... Bets don't always have to be in coin~ Eh, whaddya say? A tail for a tale?

There is nothing too remarkable about Coffu. He's not particularly strong or skilled with a sword or bow. He's not got a way with wands or any sort of magic. About the only thing he's ever been any "good" at is getting lucky. A firm follower in the Loa of Luck he made his living in Zuldazar, rolling dice in a back alley and relieving wayward Zandalari of gold that was weighing their purses down. Of course he'd been accused of being a cheat time and time again. But the truth is. He never had to cheat to get his daily bread. He always won juuuust enough to keep them coming back for another game. Sometimes the accusations came to blades or hexes, but somehow he'd outrun it all. Escaping with his winnings unscathed. This had always been the case since he was young. Always having a nose for trouble. That is, back when he was still in a caravan in Vol'dun. Stop me if you heard this one before, but it was attacked by Sethrak (he assumes), and the young Coffu fled. He got away with only bruises but.. The fate of his caravan? That is a mystery to him. Everything after the night of the attack is a blur, the next thing he knew he had made it out of Vol'dun and somehow managed his way into the city. One might think that it'd be a death sentence for a vulpera. Surely they'd skin him and stew his meat. That is what Coffu feared too at first. Until he found his niche.. Trolls wouldn't dare report him to the guards after they lost. Not with their pride on the line. He was small and unassuming. So he was able to make his way around unhindered. Shop owners and chefs alike were never ones to turn down a paying customer either. They treated him kindly enough and when he was asked where he got the coin, he simply responded "It's bad luck to turn down a gift from Yu'jimbo." and that was all that needed to be said. When the horde came to Zandalar and eventually the vulpera were allowed among their ranks Coffu saw he no longer needed to hide in the back allys. He could take his game anywhere he wanted. A wanderlust sparked in him, like the Loa of Luck was urging his forth to a new adventure! Sometime after he fell in with The Midnight Circus, and the rest is history.

Vulpera are a small vulpine race that inhabit the desert of Vol'dun on the island continent of Zandalar. Vol'dun was once a lush jungle, much like the rest of the island, but became what it is today thanks to the actions of Mythrax. A C'Thraxxi warbring tasked with invading the area. I will leave the history of Vol'dun at that for now, however over the years it turned into a desolate desert. It became a place that Zandalari trolls from Dazar'alor would be exiled, to die and be forgotten in the sands. Where the Zandalari struggled and most often perish in such a place, two races thrive. The Sethrak, who's loa gave their life in order to put a stop to Mythrax, and the unassuming Vulpera. Small, quick and clever, the Vulpera adapted to the changing environment. Taming alpaca and hunting krolusk, buzzards and scorpids as well as building communal caravans to traverse the dunes. Being most active in the twilight hours of dusk and dawn.

♦Vulpera range from 3.5 to 5 feet tall. Though there is some variance.

(Coffu is 3'6" not including his ears)

♦Though it is not written anywhere it is generally accepted about Vulpera physiology that they do not sweat. Instead they vent heat through their ears.

♦Vulpera come in a variety of colors and patterns of fur. Coffu's is a smooth grey as the picture shows.

♦Vulpera are not immune to venom. Much like fennec they will bite the tails off first before consuming scorpions alive.

♦Vulpera are known to have an almost uncany understanding of most animals. Making them excellent tamers. Alpaca are their pack animals and they rely on them to pull their wagons as well as for milk to stay stay hydrated on long journeys. These animals can graze on things inedible to the vulpera. Fermented alpaca milk is one of the more abundant alcoholic drinks vulpera will consume as water is too valuable to use on brewing.

♦Vulpera do not have "fuzzy paws" like fennec do. However they are somehow able to resist being burnt by the heated sands for short periods at a time.

♦Most Vulpera have black noses, lips and pads. Helping to prevent sunburn. Some Vulpera, like Coffu, have a purplish tongue.

♦Vulpera garb is often scant. Strips of cloth draped over the body as a sash or to cover their head. Often these are decorated with bits and baubles they find in t he desert, more than likely on a zandalari's corpse.

(Coffu wears a dress sometimes. No, that's not a vulpera fact I know. But it's comfortable so sometimes he wears a dress instead of a tunic and slacks.)

(On that note, it's worth mentioning Coffu's other possessions are his perfume and a curved kopesh-like dagger. He smells nice all the time. He keeps them inside a small bag of holding like belt pouch.)

This character wears a mask in the The Moonlit Masquerade.
