No one knows how Cheveyo came to be. Some stories have it that he was summoned from the realm of demons by a warlock to bring chaos and destruction upon this world. Others tell of the monster being born from the unholy mix of a dragon and a giant dire wolf and it produced this malevolent beast to serve as nature's wrath for abusing magic and technology, destroying the planet. A minority of others believe that the monster simply came to be, created by an all powerful being and that he serves the purpose of the 4 knights of the apocalypse as he will bring despair and chaos to the world... It is impossible to know which side is right, but one thing is true... Cheveyo rarely leaves the area is in without a little bit of chaos left behind, but while the beast only care for himself, he's incredibly lazy, making all the stories very unlikely...
Cheveyo is a monster, there is no doubt about it, but if he was to be described, he's a giant, standing at almost 15 feet tall from ground to head when on all four and even taller when he rears back on his hind legs. He's about the same length from shoulders to hips and with a tail a few feet longer. The beast has wolfish features for the most part, but he has long fangs, leathery wings and horns that could point to him as being a dragon as well. His fur is dark brown all over, with slightly lighter shades on the back of his neck, his hips, his shoulders and his back all the way down to his tail base. His face, his chest and belly as well as the fur under his tail is a dark tan color and so is the inside of his ears. He has elongated oval markings over his forelegs, on each shoulder, on his tail and small ones on his cheeks that are deep blue outlined with tan colored fur. Finally he has a few spots of tan colored fur on his thighs and sides. The inside of wings and the mane that grows on top of his head and along his neck are lime green and so are his eyes, making him quite easy to spot, but he doesn't care... Who attacks such a beast? Finally he has sharp claws that would be reminiscent of sloths.
This giant is not to be mistaken to be a gentle beast. Sure he is fluffy all over and you'll most likely find him sunbathing, sleeping, resting or cleaning himself, but he cares about himself first and will do what he pleases before he starts caring about others. If someone walks by when he's bored, he'll play with them whether they like it or not. If he's hungry, they might disappear. If he is horny... You get the drift. But when Cheveyo has all his needs fulfilled, he can become friendly and nice. He's very laid back and doesn't fear to be struck down and unless a creature larger than him approaches, he will let anyone touch him, pet him and talk with him, until his next mood strikes. The best way to describe the dragon-wolf's personality can be summarized in a few words: He doesn't care. If he lives until he dies of old age, good for him. If his excess of confidence ends up getting him killed early by a crafty monster hunter or eaten by a larger beast, then so be it. That doesn't mean he won't fight until the end, but he, himself, doesn't know where he came from or what is his purpose and he doesn't care. He'll enjoy himself until the last moment.
A few tricks up his sleeves
Cheveyo definitely has some dragon blood coursing through his veins, for he can feel the magic within his body. The first few hundred years of his existence, the beast lived like a feral creature, ignoring his inner powers and simply surviving on his own and enjoying that for a while. At one point, though, it became boring. He channeled some of this power into changing himself so he could speak, giving himself a voice. Afterwards, he spoke to those he encountered and life became less dull. It was when he started considering sentient beings as slightly more than lesser beings to him. Today, he holds them in great regards, but that doesn't stop him from entertaining himself with them.
Now able to have a conversation, the beast actually managed to make friends, as far a friends being creatures he might, sometimes, think twice before doing unmentionables to them. The problem was that he still had struggles to keep them as they still disappeared most of time, due to him being himself. So he hunted for a mage or a priest who could teach him the art of bringing back those he... consumed and after a visit to his stomach, the spell caster agreed to show him. Which was great, because then he could have brought him back, but he didn't feel like it. Why waste so much energy on a pitiful mage that only showed him the spell to save his life... Urp.
Now that he could keep a small list of friends, those who understood what kind of being he was and could endure how he treated them, he could start learning to channel his powers for other purpose. He could have used them to make the world a better place or plunge it into chaos, but as expected of him, he focused them on himself, altering himself to allow him for greater control over his body. The beast dabbled in shape shifting, but gave most of what he learned up because it was way too much effort and didn't add anything fun for him. He kept the ability to size shift, but uses it only when he wants to be left alone. He can reduce himself to a quarter of his normal size or double it. Finally, he tried to learn defensive and offensive spells, but they were too much of a hassle and took a great deal of energy to cast. He kept a few spells though, such as stone skin for when he deals with something spiky or sharp and healing for when he gets hurt in his mischief.
