HISTORY: The strange creature who calls herself 'The Black Omen' was once an anthromorphic canine of some kind, and she was once a leader for a cult of magi who focused intently upon trying to discover the source of life and death in order to achieve immortality and defy death in it's purest and most essential form. The God of Death had discovered what they were attempting to do and had placed a curse upon their ritual circle during their latest experiment. She was destined to be a ritual sacrifice so that they could attempt to thwart death and achieve their immortality. Instead, their souls were ripped out of their bodies and their flesh turned black and melted into formless goo; their souls flowed into her body and their flesh engulfed her and transmutated her into the creature she is now. Her form becoming akin to an ooze or slime, but being far more resilient. Whilst her body could deform and shift itself at will, she wasn't a true amorphous creature. Having been cursed through a freak accident that not even the God of Death had foreseen.

DESCRIPTION: Black Omen is amorphous and can appear in whatever form she desires, but no matter what form she takes she will always have a body comprised of translucent black slime which oozes and drips everywhere she goes, though her eyes will always be a piercingly demonic red in appearance with slitted black pupils.

ANATOMY: Black Omen's anatomy is as unique as is her race. Black Oozes are the result of when magi attempt to perform a ritual in which they seek to sacrifice a living victim to a dark entity in return for immortality WITHOUT Death's blessing, and the result of said experiment causes all of the magi channeling the ritual to have their souls ripped out of their bodies painfully as their flesh and blood is reduced into a blackened sludge; the souls are then pulled into the sacrifice's body and fused with the blackened sludge which surges into and absorbs the sacrifice's body, thus permanently and irreversibly changing the sacrifice into a Black Ooze--a creature comprised of black ooze given humanoid shape. The Black Ooze assumes the shape of the body it once had as a living person and retains ONLY the memories of the sacrifice's mind. The creature is capable of morphing any portion of his or her body into anything they desire or require at the moment be it tentacles, a blade, a shield or anything really. There is no known limit to how long a Black Ooze can stretch it's rope-like tendrils to latch onto it's prey.

Black Oozes are capable only of one type of vore which is absorption: It can either engulf it's prey like a typical ooze or it can force it's prey through any number of orifices located on a humanoid's body. Regardless of the ingestion source the prey will always be held inside of the Black Ooze's body where they will begin to asphyxiate to death as the ooze does not possess any air to breathe through, literally 'drowning' in the Black Ooze's substance as their flesh is liquefied with great ease as the internal flesh of a Black Ooze's body is extremely acidic and is capable of digesting it's prey relatively quickly. However, the one thing it cannot digest is that of cartilage or bone, and thusly usually the only thing one sees within the Black Ooze's body after it's prey has been digested are piles of floating bones. Eventually these bones will either be discarded or left inside of their bodies as trophies or warnings to other races to not mess with them, the bones that are discarded are left as completely picked clean white bones but will be covered in acidic black slime for the next few hours. Those killed by the Black Ooze in this way sometimes have their soul devoured by it and are thusly unable to be revived as they become a permanent addition to the Black Ooze's essence.

A Black Ooze's body is always oozing and dripping with their blackened sludge, and this substance will always reassimilate itself into the Black Ooze's body and if it becomes impossible for the pieces to slide back into the Black Ooze's body then the reverse will happen. Where the Black Ooze will be beckoned towards the source of the blockage and either destroy it or consume it to reassimilate it's body into one entity. There is no true way to kill a Black Ooze for it will ALWAYS self-revive itself within a few minutes of it's supposed 'death', and as such the creature is considered immortal.

One cannot easily damage a Black Ooze because their body will always engulf any melee strike made against it regardless of the force involved. Whilst it is true that if a blow is hard enough it will send a portion of the creature's body splashing around an area, it will always engulf around the point of impact and clench against it thus opening the attacker up to being engulfed and absorbed...and ultimately digested. And whilst magical damage can harm the creature to a point, if the creature manages to close distance to it's foe and engulf it the same will result. Due to the unique nature of the Black Ooze they are completely immune to abilities which require the caster to target the foe's mind in order to work and as such Black Oozes are considered to be a psionicists' worst enemy. If a Black Ooze is consumed or pulled into any portion of an organic creature's body then it will slowly begin to absorb the creature's flesh from the inside-out, slowly turning the unfortunate would-be predator into prey as the Black Ooze engulfs them from the inside-out and digests them and then assimilates them into their body. It is for this reason that creatures who are smart enough to recognize what a Black Ooze is, to avoid attempting to consume it or otherwise insert it into their body.

Truly, a Black Ooze is one of the more terrifying monstrosities which were created by mortals.

An addendum note is that whilst a Black Ooze's body is capable of digesting ANY kind of organic material, it can also choose to force an air bubble around it's prey inside of it to keep it alive to just feel it squirm and jiggle around on the inside.
