Aquila

Long ago there was a species so peaceful, that warfare was unheard of in their culture. As this culture began to explore the cosmos, and began meeting other, more aggressive species, they found themselves in need of protection. Aquila was the offspring of this need, one of them anyway, a volunteer who has dedicated their existence to protecting those that cannot protect themselves.


Nervous System

Aquil's Nervous System is somewhat different to those of other creatures, instead of transmitting electrical pulses, her nerves are more like optical fibres, using light to communicate, this accounts for her seemingly instant reaction time, time appears to pass much slower from her perspective, because she simply thinks faster.

Wired into this system of optical nerves are two forms of communication, electrical contacts on her finger tips, and radio antennas embedded in her horns, allowing her to communicate and interface with machines either by touch or wirelessly via radio. Combined with the speed of her Nervous system, this allows her to control machines with the speed and precision of the fastest computers.


Body

Aquila's body is a complicated and highly advanced construction, no longer organic, except for in some necessary places. Her skin is arguably the most intriguing, woven from high strength fibres, a near perfect electrical and thermal insulator, and able to change colour, and even emit it's own light for visual communication. It is incredibly smooth, so much so that she sports specialised grip pads on her feet, fingers, elbows, knees and tail, otherwise she would simply slide around helplessly, as if walking on ice.

Her bones are made of similar high strength materials to her skin, but are much denser in construction, their molecular structure shaped like springs to absorb impacts. Her bones are also the source of her body's energy, stored within them like bone marrow. Her muscles are powered by this energy, and are incredibly efficient, able to put most hydraulics to shame when it comes to strength, while her incredible reaction time keeps them in check, giving her the softest of touches when she needs it.
