A_World_Apart

The idea behind this profile is to play out a story that all participants will be writing together, Dungeons and Dragons style. I will assume the role of the Game Master, providing the player(s) with situations in which they will decide how they want to react/act and take actions. I would like to focus more on the story than rules, so it will be up to the player(s) to make their characters as powerful or as weak as they want and see where it leads them. Roll of dice can be included for opposition checks, but it will be up to the player to give themselves bonuses or penalties as they see fit.

The stories will be unique to each participant or group of participants, meaning that while they may encounter the same main characters, their relationship may differ greatly depending on how they interacted with them and how they got to meet them. The side characters I will create to pursue the story might also differ from each story. Additionally, being the player of A_Thousand_Alts, I may bring some of my already created characters in the story, but they will not be the character you have already met, they’ll be a blank slate for the purpose of the story.

Finally, the stories may involve vorish, sexual or fighting situations which will be based on mutual preferences between me and the player(s), but these interactions won’t be shoehorned in, or at least, I hope they’ll feel natural enough. We can also agree on anything to keep out of the story. It is also on purpose that I keep the world description below as vague as possible so that you can discover it without any spoilers. However, should you want more details, feel free to ask, but you will spoil yourself!

Note that the setting is set in a world filled with fantasy and magic. Technology will be tribal at best and magic, real or not, is a core belief here. It is up to you, the player(s), to adapt your character how you see fit. Are you an unfortunate mage that opened a portal by accident to this world? Are you a space explorer that beamed down to this planet? Are you from another continent of this very same planet coming to explore this unknown continent? I leave it up to you to decide what technology your character has at their disposal, but note that the way you look will affect your interactions with the natives.

-----A world to discover-----

This world was unique in the sense that it had never been bothered by any outsiders until now. If one could afford a bird’s eye view of the continent before they explored, they’d see a world teeming with the blue of rivers, the green of trees, the rainbow of fields of flowers and the blinding white of immaculate snow on the mountains. There would be no sprawling cities, no visible industries and the sky would be painted with stars at night due to the absence of any light pollution. The air was light and pure. Down below, movements would be seen everywhere, from birds to mammals all the way to aquatic critters in the rivers and oceans. A keen eye might spot bipedal creatures as well as this world had also evolved beyond wilderness, but only an encounter with these creatures would confirm the hypothesis.

While the continent was large enough to contain several ecosystems, our story would focus on a particular area that contained several large forests split from one another by a web of rivers, brooks and streams and a few lakes. In the middle of it all would be the largest mountain this world seemed to have, an ancient mega volcano now apparently extinct. Toward the south, splitting the area in two would be a very large river that spilled into the nearby area that seemed to be the distinct split between temperate forests and jungles; to the north, the start of tundra. And all around, chains of mountains that formed the skeleton of the continent.

-----Fauna and Flora-----

The environment in which the species of this world evolved is strangely similar to that of the Earth we all know. As such, the flora and fauna is mostly an exact copy of what can be found on Earth, but with a few exceptions that we might discover through our story. The main difference with Earth is which specie evolved with greater intelligence, because the outsiders of our story will not be alone to have the gift of evolution.
